Blueberry Cheese Danish

IMG_2018

My Blueberry Cheese Danish is also known as the dessert that made me Mrs. Ricketts 22 years ago, and continues to serve as a reminder that a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.  This tasty dessert looks more difficult to make than it is, but no one really needs to know that!  Simple ingredients combined with love create this delectable Danish that’s full of flavor without being terribly sweet.  While you can easily substitute other fruit fillings such as strawberry or raspberry,  blueberry is the favorite at our house!  Perfect for brunch, dessert or a mid-night snack, anytime I make this, my darling husband asks me to marry him all over again (and I would!).

DANISH INGREDIENTS
1 Tube Crescent Rolls

1 Cup Blueberry Sauce/Filling (for recipe, see Spring Ahead Strawberry Sauce)

1 Block Cream Cheese (softened)

1 Egg

1/2 Cup Sugar

1 Tsp Vanilla

Preheat oven to 325 F.

In a pie pan, lay in triangles, leaving the tips to extend over the pie plate. Press dough together in the bottom and sides of pan to create the crust. IMG_2007

Pour Cream Cheese Mixture into the crust. Spoon blueberry sauce onto the cream cheese mixture. IMG_2008

Fold the crescent triangle tips back over the top of the Danish.

Place in center of the oven and back for 25 minutes, or until the crescent top is golden brown. Remove from oven and cool completely before glazing.IMG_2015

For the glaze, in a small mixing bowl, mix powder sugar, vanilla and milk until well blended. Once the danish is completely cooled, drizzle glaze over the top.

Danish is ready to eat at this point or should be refrigerated.  Makes 8 delicious servings!!!
